DeepTech4Good#Barcelona aims at scaling up high potential Deep Tech startups

20/03/2019

Applications are now open for the fourth DT4G event on April 25th

Deep Tech start-ups and innovative companies working in the fields of Health and Wellbeing, Industry 4.0, Smart Cities and Smart Mobility are invited to apply for the upcoming DeepTech4Good#Barcelona. i2CAT and SECPHO lead this fourth event organized within the DeepTech4Good (DT4G) European project, marking an excellent opportunity for start-ups to present their innovative technologies in front of investors from all around Europe.

On April 25th, selected start-ups will be able to pitch their companies and hold B2B meetings with investors and high-ranking representatives from the European industry. The day will kick off with the Open Innovation Challenges, an opportunity for participants to present their innovative solutions to challenges provided by corporations such as Continental, Standard Profil, Lubrizol, Nissan, Global Omnium and Correos.

Four parallel workshops will encourage Deep Tech companies to transform their emerging ideas for each field into collaborative projects by building consortiums with corporates and experts. Participants will be invited to take the floor at the pitching session, and the most promising start-ups will have access to an acceleration programme aimed at scaling up the future “Deep Tech unicorns” in Europe.

After a packed day at Barcelona Tech City’s Pier01 building, one of Europe’s foremost technology hubs, DeepTech4Good#Barcelona will end with the announcement of the winning start-ups and a business party.

Looking for the next European DeepTech unicorn

The project seeks to identify 30 European unicorns in the field of Deep Tech and to help them, with the support of the European Commission and more specifically of its Startup Europe division, to rapidly increase its power through business opportunities and public and private funding.

The first finalists have already been chosen at the previous DT4G events held in Paris and Stuttgart in 2018. These events provided a large number of business and fundraising opportunities as well as higher visibility for many carefully selected potential high growth start-ups. The third DTFG start-up event will take place next week in Graz (Austria).

DeepTech4Good is an Acceleration Programme, financed under the Horizon 2020 framework, committed to help Deep Tech start-ups accelerate their development and scale up at European level. There are 4 application domains: Health & Wellbeing, Industry 4.0, Smart Mobility and Smart Cities. i2CAT and SECPHO are among the 8 partners from innovation hubs in Germany, France, Austria and Spain, working together to identify high potential Deep Tech start-ups.
