3 weeks left! Register for SmartCatalonia Challenge and take part in the transformation of Port de Barcelona

The competition will be accepting proposals until June 7th

Only 3 weeks left to sign in to SmartCatalonia Challenge, the open innovation contest promoted by the Catalan Ministry of Telecommunications, Cybersecurity and Digital Society that this year works to transform the Port de Barcelona into a breakout smart port.

Start-ups and SMEs are encouraged to take part in this transformation, which aims at solving the main challenges of the harbor ecosystem through technological services and solutions.

Mobility, 3D maps, data analysis and real time alerts

The present edition of SmartCatalonia Challenge seeks to optimize the management in a diversity of situations inside the harbor thanks to mobile applications, Big Data, IoT and other advanced technologies. Challenges have been detected in the following areas:

• Real time occupancy monitoring
• Mobility in cruises and ferries
• Usage and applications of the Port’s 3D map
• Aquatic drone for bathymetry and state of docks and piers
• Automatic measure of volume and weight
• Network of sensors to check marine pollution

The deadline to present proposals for the competition is June 7th. Once received, a jury of specialist will pre-select the 10 best solutions or technological products.

The winners will have the opportunity to receive prizes worth 10.000 € and to carry out pilot tests at the Port de Barcelona.
