SONATA

Service Programming and Orchestration for Virtualized Software Networks

Informacio

Description

SONATA project puts forth the flexible programmability of 5G networks with i) a novel Service Development kit and ii) a modular Orchestrator in order to bridge the gap between telecom business needs and operational management systems.

SONATA proposes an integrated Service platform where the outcome of the development kit that is NFV forwarding graphs of composed services, is automatically deployed with a customizable Orchestrator compatible with common existing Virtual Infrastructure Managers (VIM) in the market.

The combination of the proposed toolkit and the service platform implements an extended NFV DevOps model between service developers and telecom operators, increasing operational efficiency, facilitating the implementation of new services and accelerating the adoption of NFV technologies.

Innovation

SONATA objectives include:

1. Reduce time to market for networked services by shortening service development.

2. Optimizing resource utilization and reduce cost of service deployment and operation.

3. Accelerate the adoption of software networks in industry.
