The main objective of this project is a new way to broadcast sport events, with a special preference for the motor. Technically it consists in virtualizing these events, transforming them into a visual experience closer to the game and simultaneously transforming this event into a high quality interactive experience.

Elements of innovation and research more relevant

ArenaLife faces three basic lines of innovation. On one hand, tracking systems (tracking and tracing), which combined in a single device and GPS tracking systems using ultrasound, applied studies of location algorithms based on the estimates of distances between mobile terminals and the deployment of beacons used to scope to cover areas without GPS. On the other hand, advanced realization systems will use the flow switching mechanisms commonly used in video conferencing as a means for selecting flows. And finally, advanced visualization systems, focusing on the use of a single device capable of locating all flows rendered using advanced video manipulation in real time with a low cost, high flexibility and scalability.

Industrial and/or social benefits resulting from the project

This is a strategic project for the audiovisual sector in three aspects:

  • it creates a new dimension in the creation of rights, distancing itself from the duty on real video images and generating a new law on the synthesized image;
  • it approaches the concept of television on the concept of video game and vice versa;
  • it creates a new window on television advertising (online advertising).
